We may have been frustrated at times, but we never quit believing that rich visual experiences of social media is interesting, has value, and has a potentially huge audience.

We’ve expanded our larger vision in the past six months to include visualizing music and are more energized than ever. This “pivot” has attracted more attention and increased interest than the simple app. We still LOVE our app SuperTwtr and are rolling out new releases of it this month. We completely rebuilt the API and the app and spent even more of our own money to do it. Art is expensive but always rewarding through the process.

At the end of the day the work on SuperTwtr is the foundation for the expanded visualized music platform we’re working on. How great is that? If we had given up or stayed with the single idea we could have never imagined the next next thing.

So being lean for us has meant weekly 6:30 a.m. calls with our team before we had to get our kids ready for school or to head to the day jobs. Working at night and weekends when our families and other responsibilities may have suffered. It has meant, being ultimately clear with each other our agreements with each other and sticking to it.

We’ve been very lucky to have a group of advisers and friends who have consulted with us. They helped us find an amazing lawyer who has deferred his fees until we’re further along and schooled us on the business of incorporation, convertible notes, adviser shares and he has been a steady voice calmness and wisdom.

We’ve had a few chances to take money from some people that we ultimately believed didn’t share our vision, or wanted to force us into a way of being that philosophically wasn’t aligned.

So we’re here today to learn and share our experience and let’s see where we land after this!

Now, where were we? Ah, yes, a new year.

Wow, that was fast. 2010 that is. We rolled out multiple releases, went to TwtrCon and Chirp, expanded our views with wise advisers, families, and babies.

That’s right. Design King George and his wifey Rachel welcomed Max Mountis to the SuperTwtr team on Christmas Eve.

We worked through a couple of versions leading up to November. We’re getting faster performance on some features, and a few have slowed down. With some help from our friends we are making the next versions now.

We’re headed to South by Southwest in March and we hope to meet up with anybody who likes pictures and lots of ‘em.

More soon. Love ya. Mean it.

We really think Twitter is super.

We really think the iPhone is super.

We think the pictures that people use with Twitter really flesh out the messages.

The randomness that results when you see the tweets layered with the images gets fun real fast.

We hope you like what we’re developing.

Alpha Builds and Super-Testers

The SuperTwitterers are all testing the app on our phones now and may we just say, “It’s radical.” Our developers Shailesh and Jigna are amazing and patient even when we are pushing pixel by pixel and then back again.

Would you like one of these alpha versions for your iPhone? If you do please send your UDID to elvispresley ((@)) gmail (dot) com and we’ll do our best to get you one. We only ask that you send some feedback about your experience and the bugs you find.

The Flickr Set of SuperTwitter screens is very lively lately too.

More soon. Mean it.

Paul has just pushed out our SuperTwitter api. Thanks Paul.

The “supertweets” query grabs trends, then matches them with tweets that reference images from all the major Twitter image services. This is a beta release and we hope you’ll send feedback and report bugs.

By releasing the api - we hope you’ll find new ways to make Twitter more visual with us. We can’t face another day when a compelling tweet references an image that is too far away.

We want to put the SUPER in trends and tweets.

About Super Twitter

It’s Twittertainment for your smart phone.

A fun screen grab from our alpha test on the web

A fun screen grab from our alpha test on the web
